This Privacy Policy explains how Hikedeal Digital Media Private Limited (“Hikedeal”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use QuickEngage — our omni-channel marketing and customer-engagement platform for WhatsApp, SMS, RCS, Email, and Web Push (the “Service”), including our Shopify application, websites, and related services.
By installing our Shopify app, creating an account, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
QuickEngage is owned and operated by Hikedeal Digital Media Private Limited, a company incorporated in India.

2. Our role: controller vs. processor
- As a data controller, we determine how we handle information about our direct users — the merchants, store owners, and staff who register for and administer a QuickEngage account (for example, your name, login, and billing details).
- As a data processor, we process personal data belonging to your customers and contacts (for example, your shoppers’ names, phone numbers, email addresses, and message history) strictly on your behalf and under your instructions. In this context, you (the merchant) are the controller and are responsible for having a lawful basis and appropriate consent.
3. Information we collect
a. Information you provide to us
- Account & profile: name, business name, email address, phone number, password, and role.
- Billing: billing contact, plan, and transaction records. Card details are processed by our payment provider and/or Shopify billing; we do not store full card numbers.
- Communications: messages you send to our support and sales teams.
b. Store data via Shopify
When you connect a Shopify store, we access data through Shopify’s APIs to provide the Service, which may include store details, products, orders, checkouts, and customer records (such as customer name, email, phone number, and order history). We request only the scopes necessary to operate the features you enable. Our access to Shopify “Protected Customer Data” is governed by Shopify’s Protected Customer Data requirements, and we use it solely to provide and improve the features you have turned on, applying data-minimisation and retention limits.
c. End-customer & messaging data
To deliver campaigns and conversations, we process your contacts’ identifiers (phone numbers, email addresses), message content, delivery and read status, opt-in/opt-out status, and engagement events (opens, clicks, replies).
d. Information collected automatically
- Usage & device data: log data, IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and actions in the app.
- Cookies & similar technologies: used to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure usage (see “Cookies”).
4. How we use information
- Provide, operate, secure, and maintain the Service;
- Connect to your Shopify store and sync the data needed for the features you enable;
- Send the messages and campaigns you configure across WhatsApp, SMS, RCS, Email, and Web Push;
- Deliver email through our email provider (see “Email delivery — Amazon SES”);
- Process billing and provide customer support;
- Monitor performance, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations;
- Improve and develop features, using aggregated or de-identified data where possible.
5. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, your consent (which you may withdraw), and compliance with legal obligations. For end-customer data, the merchant is responsible for the lawful basis and consent.
6. Email delivery — Amazon SES
Outbound email from the Service is sent through Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES), provided by Amazon Web Services, Inc. (“AWS”), acting as our sub-processor. To send email and manage deliverability, sender reputation, bounces, and complaints, AWS processes the recipient email address, message content, and delivery metadata on our behalf, under its own terms and privacy commitments. We configure SES to handle bounces and complaints so that addresses which hard-bounce or mark messages as spam are suppressed.
7. Messaging channels & third parties
Depending on the channels you use, message content and recipient identifiers are shared with the relevant providers to deliver your messages, including Meta Platforms / WhatsApp (for WhatsApp Business messaging), SMS/RCS aggregators and telecom carriers, and web-push services. Each provider processes data under its own terms. You are responsible for complying with each channel’s policies and applicable messaging regulations (including consent/opt-in and DLT/registration requirements where relevant).
8. Sub-processors & disclosure
We share information only as needed to run the Service, including with:
- Shopify — the platform your store runs on;
- Amazon Web Services (Amazon SES and cloud hosting) — email delivery and infrastructure;
- Meta / WhatsApp, SMS/RCS aggregators, telecom carriers, and web-push providers — message delivery;
- Payment & billing providers — to process payments;
- Analytics and support tools — to operate and support the Service.
We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.
9. Data retention
We retain account and merchant data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period to meet legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution needs. End-customer data processed on your behalf is retained while you use the Service and deleted or returned in line with your instructions and Section 10.
10. Data deletion & Shopify uninstall
- If you uninstall the QuickEngage app from Shopify, we stop accessing your store data and honour Shopify’s mandatory data-erasure webhooks (customers/redact, shop/redact, and customers/data_request). Following a shop-redact request, we delete or de-identify the associated store and customer data within the timeframe required by Shopify.
- You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing Info@hikedeal.in.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices — to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International transfers
We and our sub-processors may process data in countries other than yours (including India and the regions where AWS and other providers operate). Where required, we apply appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
13. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the GDPR, and the CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights as our direct user, contact Info@hikedeal.in. If you are an end customer of a merchant using QuickEngage, please contact that merchant; we will assist them as their processor.
14. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to run the app and sign you in, plus optional analytics cookies to understand usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality.
15. Children
The Service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 18 (or the applicable age of majority). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
